Itinerary

DAY 1: HOI AN

ARRIVAL

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon touchdown at Da Nang International Airport you will be met right at the airplane's arrival gate by friendly Fast Track Service staff. You will be whisked through immigration via the diplomatic lane, have your luggage retrieved and carried, and be delivered to your private Hoi An host waiting for you in the arrivals hall. A transfer vehicle will be ready to take you to your hotel.

A lovely, culturally-endowed town, Hoi An is one of the most picturesque places in Vietnam. We can't wait to show you its many charms!

DAY 2: HOI AN

MY SON, A TASTE OF ANCIENT VIETNAM

(Duration: 6 hr 30 min)

Fifty kilometers from Hoi An town you'll find the ancient ruins of My Son, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is a must-see for any visit to Central Vietnam. Once the heart of the powerful Champa Empire, whose rulers built impressive Hindu temples between the 4th and 13th centuries, My Son Sanctuary is now a mystery-shrouded collection of abandoned temple structures nearly swallowed by the surrounding jungle and nearly destroyed by carpet bombing during the Vietnam War. Fascinating history to say the least!

On today's outing, getting to My Son will be half the fun! Mounted on motorbikes driven by professionals we'll take the back roads, which in Vietnam means small concrete paths amongst the rice paddies, villages and local shrines. As we navigate the labyrinth of back country roads on an exhilarating journey to the ruins, we'll get a feel for what ""off the tourist path"" really means.

After taking time to explore My Son, we will head back to the city via motorboat on a cruise down the Thu Bon River. Reflect on the morning's adventure as we observe country life passing by along the river.

DAY 3: HUE

CYCLING ADVENTURE TO HUE

(Duration: 6 hr 30 min)

Today we'll make our way across Vietnam's geographical and psychological boundary between the north and south. Our journey is through quaint villages, fantastic sandy beaches, endless green rice paddies and over three mountain passes including the spectacular Hai Van Pass overlooking Da Nang's coastline and the tele-famous sites around China Beach.

You can cycle as little or as much as you like on this day. If you'd like to cycle, typically pedal power kicks in for the last forty kilometers of the ride, while opting for the van ride over Hai Van Pass. Today, your wish is our command and the effort will be rewarded with gorgeous accommodations in the old imperial capital of Hue.

DAY 4: HUE

HISTORICAL HUE

(Duration: 4 hours)

Known as the Imperial City, Hue is one of Vietnam's most important historical sites. Hue was the political, cultural and religious center of the Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam's last royal family, who were in power from 1802 to 1945. Now inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the various monuments in and around the town and along the winding Perfume River make for an incredible day of exploration.

We will visit the Forbidden Purple City which, similar to the more famous Forbidden City in China, was accessible only to the elites of imperial Vietnam. We will then head outside of town to see the elaborate tomb of emperor Tu Duc, the Nguyen Dynasty's longest reigning monarch. The adventure will be rounded off with a visit to bunker hill, where hidden American war bunkers offer a fascinating glimpse into Hue's importance during the Vietnam War but also offer a spectacular view of the Perfume River and the surrounding floodplain.

A day in Hue isn't complete without some savory Vietnamese cuisine - let's enjoy local style dumplings for lunch before heading back for some well-deserved R&R.

Daily complimentary Vinyasa yoga (Duration: 1 hour)

DAY 5: HUE & HANOI

FLIGHT HUE - HANOI

(Duration: 1 hr 15 min)

Time to say goodbye to Central Vietnam and the Imperial City! You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Hue airport for your onward flight (SkyBoss class). Welcome to Northern Vietnam and to the country's capital city! Upon touchdown in Hanoi, collect your luggage and make your way to the Arrival Hall where your friendly Hanoi host will be waiting for you. A private vehicle will be ready to take you to your hotel.

WELCOME TO HANOI

(Duration: 3 hr 30 min)
This afternoon we'll head out to explore the hotel's neighborhood area and step into vintage Hanoi with a little historical overview, a traditional Vietnamese coffee, and a glimpse of Hanoians at work, rest and play around the city's largest natural landmark. There is no better place to get oriented. We'll cap off the evening with some mouth-watering authentic Vietnamese cuisine at one of the city's excellent restaurants.

DAY 6: HANOI

FREE DAY AT LEISURE

Spend your day enjoying a vibrant tapestry of history and modernity, where ancient temples and colonial architecture coexist amidst bustling street markets and serene lakes.

CHARTER SEAPLANE - HANOI - HALONG (SCENIC IN HALONG)

(Duration: 1 hour)

Along the way, enjoy fabulous aerial views over the Red River Delta and experience the thrill of a water landing at the Tuan Chau Island Marina. The flight will be extended to offer you an additional 15-minute scenic tour over the bay.
