DAY 1: NINH BINH - RUNWAY TO RELICS, A JOURNEY TO HOA LU ANCIENT CITY
Duration: 2.5 hours (airport to Ninh Binh)
As you bid farewell to the breathtaking mountain landscapes of Northern Vietnam, we hope your journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, filled with unforgettable moments and cherished memories. Now, it's time to step into history as you travel to Hoa Lu Ancient City, a destination steeped in legends and grandeur.
Once the heart of Dai Co Viet, Vietnam's earliest centralized state, Hoa Lu served as the nation's capital in the 10th and 11th centuries. Nestled among towering limestone karsts and lush valleys, this ancient city tells the stories of heroic dynasties, mighty kings, and the resilience of a nation in its formative years. Wander through the remnants of time, where centuries-old temples stand as a testament to the powerful Dinh and Le dynasties. Discover the rich tapestry of Vietnam's history as you explore sacred shrines, intricate carvings, and serene courtyards that whisper the echoes of a bygone era.
NINH BINH · EXPLORE HOA LU ANCIENT CITY, TRANG AN ON BOAT
Duration: 5 hours
After lunch in a local restaurant you will continue to nearby Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its outstanding natural beauty and the scenic karst formations which contribute to its reputation as being the ""Halong Bay on land."" Board a small boat and meander lazily down the peaceful river while passing through a series of caves. While enjoying the sounds of soaring birds overhead and paddling along the crystal-clear waters of the river, jagged limestone hills jutting skyward out of electric green rice paddies will be sure to bring out the photographer in you.
We'll then head to the stunning Mua Cave for an afternoon of hiking and exploration. Ascend the steps to the top, where breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and winding rivers await. Along the way, marvel at the impressive karst formations and immerse yourself in the serene natural beauty of Ninh Binh.
After a day of exploring nature, we'll head to the retreat for the evening.
DAY 2: NINH BINH - TAM COC BY EBIKE
Duration: 5 hours
Explore a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty in Tam Coc. Begin with a visit to ancient Vietnamese houses and uncover the rich history of the Tran Dynasty while learning the legend of the "Dragon's Eyes" from a knowledgeable local guide. Discover the story of the last empress of the Ly Dynasty and her contributions to the art of embroidery. Marvel at ancient marine notches 3.29 meters above sea level and 4,500-year-old marine oyster fossils. Stroll through a historic dock that remains a vital part of local life, connecting you to Vietnam's riverside heritage.
Navigate charming, winding pathways and cycle through authentic village streets, where you'll witness Tam Coc's rural charm and unique burial traditions. Capture stunning photos of vibrant lotus and lily blooms, and enjoy cycling through diverse terrain, from smooth scenic paths to rugged trails.
Pause for a serene tea break at Den Voi Temple, where you'll craft fresh tea from local leaves and savor it with mung bean cakes or peanut candies.
Complete your journey with a visit to a traditional rower's home, experiencing their warm hospitality and a glimpse into local life.
DAY 3: NINH BINH - HALONG - LAND TRANSFER - NINH BINH TO TUAN CHAU INTERNATIONAL MARINA, HALONG CITY
Duration: 3.5 hours
No trip to Northern Vietnam is complete without a visit to Ha Long Bay, a remarkable seascape of lush, rainforest-clad limestone islands and pillars jutting out of the surrounding emerald blue water as far as the eye can see. And there is no better way to experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site than by sailing through the calm, scenic waters on board an elegantly designed and high-standard Junk ship.
We will drive from Ninh Binh to Ha Long Bay where, upon arrival, your crew will welcome everyone aboard the ship and set sail into the Bay.
Note: It is a 3.5 hour drive to reach Ha Long Bay from Ninh Binh.
HALONG & LAN HA BAY · CRUISE DAY 1
Duration: Full day
Upon arrival at the pier, guests will board a speedboat transfer to the cruise, beginning their luxurious journey through the breathtaking Halong-Lan Ha Bay. After a warm welcome and check-in, a delicious lunch awaits, offering a taste of local flavors while admiring the stunning seascape.
Guests will then receive their cabin keys and settle into their elegant accommodations before an afternoon of adventure. From kayaking at Ao Ech to a relaxing dip in the onboard swimming pool, there are plenty of ways to immerse in the bay's beauty. Those interested can capture stunning aerial views with a drone photography session, followed by a tea break on select cruises.
As the sun sets, a cooking demonstration showcases Vietnamese culinary delights, leading into Happy Hour for cocktails and breathtaking views. The evening unfolds with a gourmet dinner, and afterward, guests can choose to join a squid fishing session, unwind by the swimming pool, try their hand at mini-golf, or indulge in a spa treatment for a perfect end to the day.
DAY 4: LAN HA BAY · VIET HAI VILLAGE EXPLORATION (CRUISE DAY 2)
Duration: Full day
Start the day with a breathtaking sunrise over the bay, or opt for a refreshing golf class before a Tai Chi session to awaken your body and mind. A hearty breakfast follows, fueling a leisurely morning on board, where guests can unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
A brunch buffet is then served before an afternoon adventure begins. Guests will explore Viet Hai Village by electric car or bicycle, experiencing the charm of local life before heading to the pristine Three Peaches Islet for a relaxing swim at its natural beach. By late afternoon, it's time to return to the cruise for some downtime.
As the evening sets in, enjoy a cooking demonstration, sip on cocktails during Happy Hour, and indulge in a sumptuous dinner. The night offers a choice of activities, from an exciting squid fishing session to unwinding by the swimming pool, trying out the mini-golf course, or pampering yourself at the spa - the perfect way to end another magical day in Halong-Lan Ha Bay.
DAY 5: HALONG BAY · DARK & BRIGHT CAVE THEN RETURN TO THE PIER (CRUISE DAY 3)
Duration: Morning
Start the morning with a stunning sunrise over the bay or take part in a refreshing golf class, followed by a revitalizing Tai Chi session on deck.
A delicious breakfast buffet awaits before the day's excursion to the Dark and Bright Cave, where guests will glide through the serene waters on a local rowing boat, marveling at the cave's natural beauty.
Returning to the cruise, it's time to pack up and check out, followed by a final brunch buffet to savor the journey's last moments. After settling any personal expenses, a speedboat transfer will take guests back to the mainland, marking the end of an unforgettable voyage.
