A private vehicle will transfer you approximately 45 minutes to your hotel where you will check-in and spend the afternoon at leisure.
In the late afternoon, two simultaneous 90-minute Vietnamese massages have been confirmed at the Four Seasons spa. (Please advise at least 24 hours before your treatment time if you would like to cancel or move to another time, within which a 50% cancellation fee will be charged. The spa treatments can be paid upon check-out.)
In the evening, dinner has been secured at a celebrated restaurant nested conveniently right in the heart of the old town, chosen for its many vegetarian options. Please be advised that a transfer will need to be requested directly from the hotel; the restaurant is approximately 15 minutes from the Four Seasons.
DAY 2: HOI AN
DISCOVER HOI AN & COUNTRYSIDE BIKING
Duration: 6 hours
Hoi An is one of Vietnam's most elegant and historic towns. It was a major maritime trading center for centuries and is home to beautifully preserved and diverse architecture and delicious food. Watch locals preparing for their day, then hop on a bike and head further afield through the Vietnamese rural countryside stopping at the village of Go Noi. Here you will learn about the daily life of the local farming communities, experience a cooking demonstration and have lunch.
In the late afternoon, depart the hotel for a private transfer to Cua Dai estuary.
BAMBOO RAFT DINNER
Duration: 3 hours
Depart your hotel for Hoi An's scenic Cua Dai estuary. Embark on a short sunset cruise through the mangroves in a hand-woven reed conical boat. You'll experience local riverside life and watch fishermen cast nets one last time as the sun sets. A special setting will be created for a dinner on the river of the day's catch and an array of locally sourced vegetables. As the day ends, witness the sunset on the estuary and then return to your hotel for the night.
Note: The biking excursion is approximately 6-12 miles on flat, paved countryside roads.
DAY 3: PHU YEN
TRAIN RIDE TO QUY NHON ON THE VIETAGE TRAIN
Duration: approximately 6 hours 30 minutes
Private transfer to the Danang Train Station (approximate transfer time is 45 minutes). Check-in time for the Vietage Train is at least 30 minutes before departure. A team member will be waiting for you with The Vietage signboard at Da Nang railway station and will assist you with check-in procedure and escort on board.
Embark on your journey from Da Nang to Quy Nhon aboard the Vietage train. Travel through the stunning landscapes and breathtaking coastlines of Central Vietnam. Experience the old-world comfort of rail travel with panoramic views and gourmet dining. With spacious booths, scenic vistas, a sit-up bar and a relaxation area, the train ride will be a very special experience to traverse this coastal region.
The train ticket includes: a welcome drink; 3-course meal for lunch; snacks; free flow of selected wines, cocktails, beers, and beverages; a 15-minute head & shoulder treatment.
Disembark at Dieu Tri Train Station. A Zannier driver will greet you with a signboard and proceed by private transfer to the Zannier Bai San Ho (approximately a 1 hour transfer). Arrive, check-in and relax as you will spend your next four days here.
Sprawled over a rocky peninsula, Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho is a distillation of the province's singular cultural and rural charms. A mix of hilltop retreats with private pools and oceanfront beach huts hiding in the jungle fringe, the property's 73 villas have thatched roofs, bamboo floors, cob walls and Southeast Asian wickerwork - styles that echo both the Cham fisherman architecture and the traditional longhouses of the region.
DAY 4: PHU YEN
VILLAGE EXPLORATION
Duration: 2 - 2.5 hours
A quick ride out of the resort will bring you to a watermelon & shrimp farm and artisan fish trap making, where you can learn more about the fishermen's lifestyle. You may then visit the local mausoleum and pagoda where you can learn more about the local rituals. Time now to start a hike that will lead you to the highest point of the village where you will overview the lagoon entrance, the public beach and fisherman floating houses. Finally treat yourself with a traditional Vietnamese coffee or coconut water.
You're forgiven if you can't pinpoint Phu Yen on a map of Vietnam. Even to travelers familiar with the country's domestic terrain, this small rural province on the south-central shoreline is largely unexplored. Wedged between the foothills of the Annamite Range and over 100 miles of rugged coast, it's a territory of rice farmers and fisherfolk, one mostly out of sight for tourists flocking to the increasingly-busy resort towns of Quy Nhon and Nha Trang. First and foremost a rustic fishing village, Phu Yen's lagoons are patchworks of floating oyster and lobster farms - the same fishing traps that local workshops have woven out of bamboo for centuries. Thung chai, basket boats shaped like round salad bowls, come in Crayola-like primary hues of purple and red. Hauls of pomfret and mackerel are sold at the cacophonous morning markets.
Evening: A Shabbat Kosher dinner will be served in your villa. (The dinner has been pre-paid directly to the provider.)
Note: Village exploration is not included and can be paid upon check-out. All activities scheduled directly with Zannier must be cancelled no less than 6 hours beforehand.
Day 5: PHU YEN - TENNIS
Duration: morning session
A one hour tennis lesson followed by a match has been confirmed with the property. Tennis equipment will be supplied.
CATAMARAN
Duration: 1 hour
In the afternoon, navigate a Hobie Cat catamaran and explore Bai San Ho's coastline and sea life with a personal instructor who will guide and teach you how to handle the boat.
Day 6: PHU YEN
WATERFALL TREK
Duration: 4 hours
Reach Xuan Hai village by car and start an immersive trek into the deep rural life of Phu Yen. You will end up facing a waterfall hidden gem where you will be able to swim and refresh yourself. End the trip by having lunch with breathtaking view through the lagoon and wallow in the charming rustic atmosphere at a local restaurant. (Picnic by the waterfall optional.)
DAY 7 - HO CHI MINH CITY - FLIGHT SOUTH & EVENING SCOOTER ADVENTURE
Greeting and private transfer to the Quy Nhon airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City (flight duration approximately 1 hour 25 minutes). On arrival, greeting and private transfer to the city for lunch out at a well-loved vegetarian pho house, chosen for its authentic plant-based take on Vietnam's national dish. Following lunch, private transfer to your hotel, where you can check-in and rest.
SAIGON EVENING SCOOTER ADVENTURE & STREET FOOD
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
As the sun sets, embark on an evening scooter adventure through the historical district taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of the city at dusk. You will make stops to try street food which provides a perfect view of Saigon's motorcycle medley. You can try fish, prawns, crabs and cockles - seafood is a big part of Vietnam's cuisine due to the country's concentrated river delta systems. Drink fresh coconut juice, a popular drink in the city.
If you fancy a nightcap, head up to one of Saigon's rooftop bars and observe the city's frenzy from above - options range from polished sky bars to more casual street-style rooftops.
Note: The motorbikes are normal motorbikes and not Vespas to provide maximum flexibility and tailored experiences and you will be with professional motorbike drivers.
DAY 8: HO CHI MINH CITY
SAIGON'S CHINATOWN & HISTORICAL DISTRICT
Duration: 5 hours 30 minutes
Every morning, Ho Chi Minh City's streets fill with a heady mix of ambling cyclists, farmers arranging fragrant produce, carts dishing out pho and incense trailing from hundreds of pagodas. It is the city's golden hour. Today we'll hit the town by three-wheeled cyclo. A vintage and slow-paced way of getting around, we'll head to Cholon, Saigon's Chinatown, where you can roam around the old spice district as well as the colorful and sensory Binh Tay Market. We will also visit Giac Lam Pagoda, one of the city's oldest Buddhist temples.
The morning ride through markets will no doubt leave us building up an appetite. Lunch will be one of the most classic and ubiquitous of Vietnamese dishes: pho noodle soup. Saigon is considered by many to have the best pho in Vietnam. Following lunch, stop for a coffee in the park and continue on exploring Saigon's historical district by foot.
In the evening, we recommend dinner out at a refined vegetarian fine-dining restaurant, celebrated for elevating Vietnamese plant-based cuisine to a level worthy of the most discerning palates.
DAY 9: HO CHI MINH CITY - DEPARTURE
We recommend settling the extra costs of your bill the night before at the front desk. In the early morning, private transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Fast track airport service will be provided in Ho Chi Minh airport.
